After shipping the Fedora 14 Alpha a week late because of too many big changes at the last-minute, we released the [Fedora 14 Beta](https://johnpoelstra.com/2010/09/07/fedora-14-beta-end-game/) on time. We’re very close to achieving my [modified Fedora 14 feature](https://johnpoelstra.com/2010/09/03/shipping-fedora-14-one-week-late-is-a-feature/) so don’t let up now! After a busy week last week chasing blocker bugs down each day and getting the release candidate created, we’re on track to release the final version of Fedora 14 on time. Only [a few tasks remain](https://johnpoelstra.com/2010/10/06/fedora-14-final-release-game-plan/) . You can help be part of this success story by helping with our [final round of testing](http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/test-announce/2010-October/000160.html) . One of the rewards of helping to test the release candidate is the opportunity to install the *almost completed*release before its official release. Our next important check-in is this Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at 5 PM EDT when we’ll determine if all the tests have been run and if there are any important unresolved bugs. You can learn more about the [Go/No-Go meeting](http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Go_No_Go_Meeting) on the wiki. On release day, November 2, 2010, Fedora 14 will be available at [http://fedoraproject.org/get-fedora](http://fedoraproject.org/get-fedora) [http://fedoraproject.org/get-fedora](http://fedoraproject.org/get-fedora) . *[Image by Tamsin Slater via flickr](http://www.flickr.com/photos/offchurch-tam/2501408451/sizes/m/in/photostream/) used under a [Creative Commons license](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/) .* #### John Poelstra John Poelstra coaches directors in finance and software.
