I’ve been asking myself, and you might be asking yourself too, “Where is John’s blog going and what is it really about?”

I break one of the golden rules of good blogging which is that your blog should focus on a central topic.  My goal right now is just to “ship” and by that I mean to consistently create new content on topics I’m interested in and share them.  I’m probably losing out on Google page ranking opportunities, etc. but for now I believe it is best to create content and worry later about where it will live and how it will be organized.

I find that I tend to blog about four or five primary subjects.  There is some audience overlap, but I’m not sure how much.

  • Personal productivity
  • Self Improvement
  • ConfiguringLinux (and soon more stuff on WordPress)
  • Project Management

I really would like to to have a more robust site.  In fact, for a long time I’ve been wanting to take things to the next level and offer a product or services.  I’ve encouraged some of my friends in this regard they are seeing success.  I feel that the time is nearing for me to take some of my own advice and do the same, but how and where is extremely hazy.

If there was a product or service I could provide to you or that you think would be valuable to others, what would it be?  What niche do you think I could best serve?  Feel free to use the comments or email me directly.
